interviewing Country Music Artist Arly Karlsen:
-"Mr. Arly Karlsen….congratulations with number one on ECMA for the second week with “The Day I found You”. That`s a great achievement. Is this one of your songs or did you have someone to write it for you?"
Arly:-"It’s written by Walter and Tracey Bottoms from Greensburg in Indiana (USA).
They came all the way down to Nashville to visit me in the studio when I recorded the song in April this year. They’re so enthusiastic about our cooperation, and so kind to me, and they are more become my friends. The song has got a lot of attentions in newspapers and radio stations in USA because of them. They are working hard to promote, not only their song but, my music general! They are a wonderful couple!"
-"When you recorded this song, did you ever think it would take you to No 1 ?"
Arly:-"Well, I’m always optimistic about making my music heard, but I didn’t really think It would be #1, but among the top 10."
-" You`ve been on Ecma chart before Mr. Karlsen. Not to many Norwegian artist`s have. How come ?
Is it a matter of choosing the right distribution channels for your music in addition to recording the right songs? Now don’t get me wrong here. You certainly are a great artist but Norway has raised a few but they rarely appear on ecma chart."
Arly:- "Well, it’s hard for me to say, but I think it’s about how do humans heart/mind react on a song!
How big part of that is the songwriter, the musicians, the studio, the producer, the singer, the distribution and so on? All have an influence of that more or less. A few years ago the Duet with me and Pat Roden “Please Don’t Stop Loving Me” was #1 six times in a row and my tribute song to Johnny Cash “Here’s to You (The Man in Black)” was #1 two times in a row too, so something is done right here!
But I’ll thank especially Ross Allen at Hillcrest, and also Stuart Camron at HotDisk, for being the main reason for that the song are been heard all over the world."
-"Plans for the future Arly ? Do you have a new cd on it`s way ? How about any new exciting songwriters? Any of your own songs heading our way ? ( we do know you write songs as well as perform them) ? Duet`s ?"
Arly:-"I’m working more and more in different Countries in Europe outside Scandinavian and also planning a tour in Melbourne/Queensland Australia next year. Maybe also in USA. We’re already planning a CD hopefully next year, and I’m working on some new self made songs and cooperates with international songwriters as Joe Sun, Red Lane, Walt and Tracey Bottoms, Byron Hill and more. Yes, I’ll do a duet or some duets with some well known artists on my next album"
- "Here`s the opportunity to thank both songwriters and dj`s worldwide for playing your music. Any thing in particular you want to say to them ?"
Arly:-"Yes! Many big big thanks to all the radio stations and hardworking DJ’s all over the world for making my music and Country music in general heard world wide!"
